THE WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER'S CREED

The Wedding Photographer should be: brave, thrifty, loyal, strong, reverent, cheerful, courteous, kind, neat, handsome, wild, crazed, gutsy, pretty, knowledgeable, patient, loving, courageous, rigid, flexible, timely, fashionable, able, willing, ready, sturdy, expressive, honorable, well rounded, astute, gentile, motivated, ambidextrous, talented, right brained, left brained, cool, well spoken, indulgent, understanding, docile, intelligent, focused, discerning, prudent, extremely hip, polite, creative, frisky, cute, playful, excellent, sweet, dynamic, quick, charming, radical, geeky, open, expressive, omnipotent, artsy, mind-blowing, awesome, positive, exceptional, the I Q of Einstein, 9 lives, 3 hands, the eye of the tiger, super human, ad agent, camera repairman, salesman, PR rep, CPA, secretary, word processor, lighting technician, unobtrusive, in your face, diplomat, computer genius, graphic designer, fit, consultant, psychologist, maintenance man, supervisor, CEO, a winning personality, in love with love, positive, opinionated, graceful as a swan ( Err, well, sometimes) and Brian Oates.

Technical note: This image was achieved using a Hasselblad CM body and the wonderful Hasselblad 30mm fisheye lens. The image was focused at 13 inches from the main subject. The Apertures was f3.5 with a shutter speed of 1/60. This is a 2 1/4 by 2 1/4 Polaroid scanned at 600dpi, and channel blended to make use of a full black and white tonal scale. The light source was a room light at a wedding reception whose output justified the f3.5, 1/60th exposure. A "weaved" computer effect was added to this print to accentuate the fact that this extremely competent photographer is a "weaver" of event, time, feelings and emotions.
